An author visit and book signing in the library's Bettendorf Room, which the library splits into two parts in its own listing: 6 to 6:45 p.m. the talk "Literacy: The Secret Sauce to Life", and 7 to 8 p.m. the book signing. The library describes A.S. King as "one of the best YA writers working today" per the New York Times Book Review and the only two-time winner of the American Library Association's Michael L. Printz Award, and says she started out teaching adults how to read. The library calls it a free event, twice, and says it is funded by the Friends of the Bettendorf Public Library. It notes books can be preordered from Atlas Collective for pickup at the event; that purchase is optional and separate from admission. The listing sets no registration requirement and no registration window exists on it.
