Morrison High School’s Key Club chapter will partner with the United Way of Whiteside County during a service project on Tuesday, July 22 at 8:00 a.m. at Morrison Junior High School. Student volunteers will prepare bags with informational flyers about the United Way’s “Pulling Together with Pennies” campaign, which raises funds for human services programs sponsored by the United Way of Whiteside County. Mrs. Kim Ewoldsen, a Morrison High School parent and United Way volunteer, and Mr. Brian Bartoz, Key Club Co-Advisor, will be present to supervise students during the event.

All service is eligible for Sauk Impact Program credit; students will receive an Impact Program sheet documenting their service. The event is open to all Morrison High School students, regardless of grade level or Key Club membership status.

Key Club plans to run a first volunteer shift on Tuesday, July 22 from 8:00 - 11:00 a.m., followed by a second volunteer shift from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. If volunteer turnout is strong, the event might conclude before 2:00 p.m.

Students are welcome to arrive and depart at times that work for their schedules and their families’ schedules based on sports practices, family activities, and other commitments. The event will be held in the library at Morrison Junior High School.

Students and parents/guardians are welcome to reach out to Mr. Bartoz via e-mail at Brian.Bartoz@morrisonschools.org or by voicemail at (815) 772-4071 x 12106 with questions about the service project. Students who wish to volunteer are asked to send an e-mail to Mr. Bartoz to express their interest.
